It's time once again to get ready for the RRVPA Annual Meeting & Banquet. They will be held at the Shooting Star Casino in Mahnomen, MN on Saturday, January 14th 2012. Registration is at 3:00, meeting at 4:00 and mealtime at 6:00 with award ceremony to fallow the meal. A block of rooms have been reserved at $60.00 + tax each. You can call for hotel reservations at (800) 453-7827 by December 30th to receive the discounted RRVPA rate.

This year we have decided to give 2 free meals for each pulling unit that was at a RRVPA event this year there will be a charge of $10 dollars per person extra.

I am wanting to make a change to our General Rules that will allow people that are in President nominated positions (such as Secretary, Treasurer and Tech) to be able to vote at the Director/ Representative meetings. I feel that if these people are willing to make the effort to travel to these meetings, they should be able to vote on some of the issues that come up. A lot of the times it is an issue that might have an affect on some of their duties for the club.

If you would like to make nominations for your Class Rep, Vice President and President please mail or e-mail your nominations to me or your Vice President before January 1st, 2012. We will try to announce the nominations before the annual meeting if possible.

LETTER ON DIRECTOR'S PROPOSED CONSTITUTION AND BY-LAWS CHANGES

Below is the Obituary from the Furey Funeral Home in Frazee.

Gary Grant Pfeiffer, age 68, of Vergas, MN, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 with his wife, Joan at his side. Funeral mass will be held 11AM, Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Frazee. Interment will be made in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM, Monday, September 27, 2010 at Furey Funeral Home in Frazee with a prayer service and rosary held at 7 PM. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Gary Grant Pfeiffer, the son of Lorene Addie Pfeiffer and Peter Benjamin Pfeiffer, was born October 23, 1941 in Lida Township, Otter Tail Co., Minnesota. In 1946, the family moved to a farm near Vergas, MN where he attended District 136 country school up until sixth grade. Gary attended Pelican Rapids High School for the remainder of his school years, graduating in 1959. He entered the National Guard in 1962, spending time in Fort Leonardwood, Missouri and Fort Benning, Georgia. Gary married Joan Marie Edin July 13, 1963 and the couple was blessed with four children. Gary drove milk truck for Farnam's out of Pelican Rapids and also worked for Ford Equipment in Vergas. He enjoyed farming and specialized in custom mechanic work. Gary was well known for his extensive knowledge of tractors. He enjoyed many successful years of tractor pulling with "Lil Red" and "Running Bear". Gary cherished time spent hunting, fishing, spending time with grand kids and playing cards. He was active in church and volunteered when he could. With a very deep faith, he was proud of his children and grandchildren. Gary is survived by his wife Joan; brother Gale; sister Jen; and four children-Sheri (Andrew) Langfield; Mary (Reed) Matilla; Pat (Renae) Pfeiffer; and Lisa (Mark) Wierschke. He was preceded in death by his parents Lorene and Peter Pfeiffer; sisters Helen Pfeiffer and Audrey Stensvold; and brother Francis Pfeiffer.

Tim pulled "Turkey Buzzard" for many years.
Funeral service & visitation is at Williams Funeral Home in Princeton, Minnesota on Saturday, October 25th.

Visitation is 11:00 AM -12:00 noon with funeral service at 12:00 noon.
